The six

Pick your borough

The six municipalities that became the City of Toronto in 1998. Every listing carries its own, so you can find someone close enough to actually turn up.

How it works

Nobody stands between you and the person doing the work

This is a directory, not a booking app. You find them, you ring them, you agree it between you. That is on purpose.

Find them

Search by dish, trade or street, or pick your borough. Every card shows the address and the hours we know about.

Ring them

The number on the page is the shop's own line. No enquiry form disappearing into a queue, no waiting on a reply.

Sort it between you

Cash, e-transfer, card, PayPal, whatever suits you both. We never hold your money and never take a slice of it.

Owners take over the page

Claiming is free. Add your photos, your prices, your hours and your story, and the page stops being a map entry and starts being yours.

For owners

Your shop is probably already on here

If it is, the page shows a name, an address and a number, because that is all public map data knows. It does not know about the Saturday special, the catering trays, or that you shut at four on a Sunday.

Claim the page and it is yours to run: your photos, your prices, your hours, your words. Free, and we take nothing from what you earn.

  • You keep every dollar. No commission, now or later
  • Your own phone, your own calls, your own customers
  • Reviews stay on your page instead of vanishing into a group chat

Free, no card needed. We will email you as soon as claiming opens.

Questions people ask first

No. Whoever calls you pays you directly, however the two of you agree. We are not in the middle of that and we take no commission.

Business names, addresses, phone numbers and opening hours on unclaimed listings come from OpenStreetMap, an open map database maintained by volunteers, published under the Open Database Licence. Once an owner claims a listing, everything on it comes from them instead.

Claim it and fix it yourself, or email hello@seethesix.com and we will correct it within seven days.

Being listed and claiming your listing is free, and stays free. The only paid thing is featured placement, which lifts you to the top of your trade and borough. It is optional and priced up front.

No, and we say so on every featured listing. Featured placement is paid promotion. It is not a rating, a review or a check on quality.

Not yet. Overnight stays need a City of Toronto short-term rental company licence, which we do not hold. Here is the full explanation, and a waiting list. Halls, studios and kitchens by the hour are fine and are listed today.
